Good Evening,

I hope everyone had a good week. Things are getting back to normal, and I thought it would be good to let you know about some of the fun stuff planned over the next couple of months, instead of more talk about cleanup and debris removal (which is still ongoing!). All of this information will be on the portal as well.

Free Beer Tasting! – Corrected Times

Porches will host our first Beer Tasting on Saturday, October 13th from 4:00-6:00 p.m. There is no charge for the event, and there will be a number of locally brewed craft beers for you to sample, each paired with a gourmet popcorn. Other food items will be available for purchase, and you can also order any of the beers you like, and they will be delivered to Porches the following week.

Karaoke

Thursday, October 18th from 6:00-10:00 p.m. will be the next night of karaoke. Apparently, the community has quite a few rising stars so come on out and see your neighbors “rock it out.”

Sunday Brunch

Sunday, October 21st from 11:00 a.m we will host our first brunch event at Porches. There will be a number of items to choose from, including an omelet station. Tickets are $25 or $45 for two and include two drinks per person. Please stop by the restaurant and sign up as we hope to have a great turn out at this inaugural event. Be sure to invite your friends who live outside the community as well!

Live Music

Beginning next Friday, we will have live music each Friday evening at Porches from 6:00-9:00 p.m.

Historical River Cruise

On Monday, October 15th, Wilmington Water Tours has a great trip planned. With well known Dr. Chris Fonville (former UNCW history professor) as your guide it starts at the Bellamy Mansion downtown and then includes a river boat ride to River Bluffs, lunch at Porches, a guided tour of our cemetery and discussion of the area’s history and finally, the return trip to Wilmington by boat. The cost is $95 per person, and you can register by visiting this link.

Future Events

We are thinking about doing something on Halloween like a costume contest/party. Let us know if you have any thoughts about that. November will bring a Thanksgiving themed dinner night on the 8th, karaoke on the 16th and an oyster roast on Saturday, December 1.

Have a great weekend and thanks for making River Bluffs your home.
