River Bluffs is so different than any other new home community in the area. We have left so many natural growing trees in their rightful home, we have an organic farm, a fantastic restaurant, and of course the river. The elevation of the community is pretty amazing as well.
How did you discover Wilmington, NC?
I moved to the area in 1989 to attend UNC-Wilmington and to be near the beach…..and, I’m still here!
What do love most about beautiful southeastern North Carolina?
I am a summer girl so I love the hot weather. And, of course – I love the river and the beach!
What is your favorite part of River Bluffs?
The fact that our developer will actually change the orientation of the neighborhood’s roads to accommodate the trees! The natural beauty of the community is unlike any that I’ve seen in Wilmington. Being so high up on the bluff and looking down 35-50 feet down to the northeast Cape Fear River is amazing – especially because so much of Wilmington is flat!
What makes River Bluffs stand apart from other communities?
I would say that the fact that we are a Low Impact Development, which means no retention ponds! As well as a third of our entire community will remain natural. We also have an Organic Farm underway that will help to supply our café and offer our residents easy access to healthy, fresh produce!
What do you recommend we try at Porches Café?
My favorite sandwich is “The Southern Staple.” It full of homemade pimento cheese, smoked ham, okra pickles, and bacon jam on sourdough bread. It makes my mouth water just thinking about it!
