Captain Dave Desso, lead of the New Hanover County Crime Prevention Unit, has been contacted to set up a Community Watch Program. We will try to set up a meeting for the week of July 10th depending on his availability. We will keep you updated on the date, time and location of the meeting.
The New Hanover County website has the following description of the program:
Community Watch is a program which enlists the active participation of citizens in cooperation with law enforcement to reduce crime in their neighborhoods. It involves neighbors getting to know each other and working together for the good of the community. Residents are trained to recognize and report suspicious activities in their neighborhoods.
