Good Evening,
I wanted to update everyone on the recent activity regarding the break-ins in the neighborhood. I know it is disturbing to think that these kinds of things can happen here in our community, but the sad reality is that they happen everywhere. Here are some of the steps that are being taken:
1. The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Department is aggressively investigating the case and was on site today for several hours for follow-up. We are assisting them and will continue to do so.
2. The cameras at the front entrance are being enhanced to improve both image and nighttime performance.
3. Other cameras are being deployed in strategic locations.
4. There will be random coverage in the nighttime hours that will drive the community in a golf cart or vehicle and will primarily be watching points of ingress and egress.
5. We are meeting with Premier management on Friday to discuss the financial implications to the HOA of having twenty-four-hour coverage at the front entrance. The thought is that the night shift would include patrols such as described above. We will have a meeting with the community to discuss the results of this conversation and get your input.
The best prevention is still to make sure your vehicles and homes are locked and to immediately contact law enforcement if you see something out of the ordinary. We will continue to keep you posted and please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have questions.
