Good Morning,

Well, the combination of rain and vacation will keep this update relatively brief (and make for it being late). I will be back in the office on Monday and next week’s update will follow the normal routine.
Amenities Update
Many of you have already contacted the office regarding the Boat/RV area. The rental agreement was drawn up this week and several residents are already utilizing the storage area. Please contact Tara at 910-675-7991, or Tara@riverbluffsliving.com, if you are interested in making use of the area. As a reminder, the rental rates will be fifty-percent of the normal rates until such time as we get power, lighting and the controlled access system put in.
Community Activities
Farmer’s Market – Don’t forget to visit with farmer Steve today from 9:00a.m. to -2:00p.m on the porch area in front of Porches for the weekly farmer’s market. As his e-mail yesterday indicated, his selection of produce will continue to expand.
Live Music at Porches – Tomorrow afternoon from 4:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. the band “Overtyme” will be making a return appearance to Porches. Should be a great time, rain or shine. Next Friday, August 18th, the “Babyboomers” will be starting at 6:00p.m. and they are also scheduled to come back in September. As I indicated last week, we are aiming to have live music every Sunday at Porches through the fall and will let you know as we get new groups signed up. If you know of any local bands that might be a good fit, please contact David West at Porches and let him know.
Operation Hope Front – As those of you involved in the event know, it has been postponed to August 25th due the huge amounts of rain we’ve had this week. The upside to this delay is that if you weren’t able to volunteer before you can now! This event is designed to give the spouses and children of military personnel deployed away from home a “break”. The kids and adults will be able to play in the pool and they will also be fed. Tina Chadwick is the person to contact if you would like to participate and she may be reached at 301-751-4790 or tinachadwick@outlook.com.
I hope everyone gets to see Overtyme at Porches tomorrow night and enjoy your weekend through the rain showers.
