Here are a couple of pictures that recap the 2017 Labor Day Monday Funday.
I had started typing out all of the Thanks owed to those who contributed to the event, but it is a long, long list and I would be at risk of leaving someone out. I will leave it saying that we have such a great neighborhood and a great collection of wonderful residents whose efforts resulted in activities that started with kayaking made possible by people loaning kayaks, to a cookout lunch and dinner with a cornucopia of dishes and grilling chefs. There were lots of game opportunities and then music in the evening to wrap up the day. It was a great success!
Some people got into the creative name tag concept, and I heard from several residents that they appreciated the tags, it made it easier to get to know other residents. I’d like to note the Rose Wood creativity of Beth Robinson who lives in Rosewood Landing.
The day started with morning kayaking trips at 7:00am and 9:00am. Everyone appreciated the loaner kayaks, the river was glassy and calm at high tide. It was a beautiful day.
Lunch promptly started… after an hour fire start delay and Water Volleyball was a splashing smash. Some took advantage of the games including corn hole and somehow food and beverages were the most popular. Some great chefs such as Gary Koster volunteered to handle the fire pit and grilling.
Music by Kate and John Distler following dinner wrapped up the activities for the day.
