Good evening,

Well, tonight I am writing to you from Tyson’s Corner, Virginia outside of Washington, D.C. Burrows, Karen and I are here for an Ideal Living show where people looking to relocate get to come and talk to communities from all over the country in one place. We attended this same show in March of this year and got ninety-two good leads, many of whom have since visited the property. We’ll take some pictures and post them for everybody tomorrow. This past week was busy and here are some updates for you.

Development Updates

This week crews worked on the curb and gutter as well as rocking the roadway on White Cliffs down near the boat ramp. This work will continue up White Cliffs towards Chair Road over the next several weeks and the road itself will most likely be paved in early November. Once that is completed, Piedmont Natural Gas and AT & T will do their installations (remember my past description of chase pipes-AT & T will use those) and we will begin the process of working with New Hanover County Planning to get the Lots on Barnesmore and White Cliffs recorded and ready for sale. That usually takes about sixty days so we are thinking they will be recorded sometime in early January. We already have nine Lot reservations in that section so its likely that a few houses will start construction up there next summer.

It was another busy week with seventeen tours (we had seven on Thursday alone) and we put Lot 5 under contract as well as Lot 239. I’d like to thank everyone in Rosewood Landing for your patience during the luncheon we had there this past Tuesday. We had about eighty Realtors come out to look at Premier’s new Florida Bay model as well as their other two models. In addition to the construction starts I’ve mentioned over the last two weeks, Bass Built construction should be starting on Lot 73 in the next couple of weeks.

Amenities Update

The company that was working on paving Chair Road over the last couple of days (Highland Paving) will be starting the paving of the tennis courts and roadways leading to the boat and RV area a week from Monday. That work should not take very long and will be followed by the installation of the tennis and pickle ball court finishes and fencing as well as landscaping. Burrows and I met with the two contractors who are bidding on the multi-use room and a contractor should be selected very soon.

The permit modification for the marina and riverwalk is still under review by the various agencies but we have had regular contact with them through answering questions some of them had so we are hopeful that approval should be coming in the next several weeks.

Just a reminder that the pool will be closing at the end of October in accordance with New Hanover County’s requirements. Also wanted to let you know that we are aware of the issue with some of the blinds in the fitness center and that should be taken care of in the next couple of weeks as well.

Neighborhood Safety

The Neighborhood Watch meeting has now been scheduled for October 5th at 7:00p.m. at Porches. Deputy Moore with the Sheriff’s Department will be in attendance and is also trying to have one of the detectives involved in our recent incident attend as well. As we’ve said before, please make sure you lock your vehicles at all times and if you see something out of the ordinary, don’t hesitate to call 911.

Community Activities

Farmer’s Market – Farmer Steve is in full production mode up at the farm and you may have noticed some of the improvements made recently to the barn up there. Some other work will be completed over the next several months and he will be out on the porch at Porches again tomorrow from 10:00 a.m to 2:00 p.m.

Live Music at Porches – “The Other Guys” will performing this Sunday at Porches from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. and check out our ad in the Wilmington Star News tomorrow for a list of future bands on Sundays through October. Please feel free to invite your friends to join you for these sessions as the more attendance we get the more we can continue with bringing in the bands.

Camber Drive Block Party – The Garden Home residents of Camber Drive are hosting a block party on Sunday, October 8th at 2:00 p.m. The event is open to all resident and there will be food, music and an exciting time for all. There is a flyer in the Mail Center with additional information.

In closing I wanted to let everyone know that Erin Wiley, our phenomenal chef at Porches, had a happy, healthy baby girl last weekend. Theodora Sage Loyal Crumpler (Theo) is doing great, as is Erin.

Have a great weekend and enjoy the fantastic weather. As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.
