Good afternoon,

Well, it’s the third of November and my thermometer says seventy-eight degrees. Wow! As I said in my update a couple of weeks ago, this is the best time of year in my opinion and ironically it is about to be our busy time of year in terms of work being done around the community. More on that in a moment.
The Classic Cars & Architecture was a great success. We ended up with approximately three hundred visitors coming to the property to look at the cars and tour homes. One of our builders told me on there way out of the neighborhood that afternoon that they had sixty seven couples go through their house so we think that event was very successful. We really didn’t know what to expect in terms of attendance and Porches was slightly overwhelmed during lunch but we now know what sort of crowd an event like this will draw in the future. A very special thanks to Ritt Schiano for all of his help in coordinating the event. Also a thank you to each and every one of you that helped out. We are truly blessed to have such amazing residents!
Barnesmore has been completely rocked and White Cliffs should be rocked by the middle of next week. You will see the curbing machines next week as they install the rest of the curbs and after that there will only be a few utility tie ins to do prior to rocking and paving. You will also notice more work being done on the southern side of the property with new silt fence and tree protection going up as we work to extend Chair Road across the power line easement, down toward the marina. That work will continue throughout the winter months. Additionally we are preparing to begin the expansion to the next phase of Rosewood Landing which will include the extension of Jenoa and the connection of Excelsior between Sea Holly and Jenoa.
Amenities Update

The paving at the amenity center is complete and you probably saw some fine grading going on this week as we prepare for the overlay of the courts themselves and landscaping installation. Fencing and lighting will also be going in the contractor working on the restrooms (and the multi-use room) will be coordinating that as well. The PM & E (plumbing, mechanical and engineering) for the multi-use room is underway and the permit to commence work should be received in the next couple of weeks.
Burrows spent the better part of Tuesday with officials from CAMA and other state agencies on we hope was the last inspection of the marina/riverwalk area before receiving approval of our permit modification. In the last update I told you that it seemed every time Burrows provided the requested information; new questions came up. I guess the good news with this last visit is that no new questions came up.
There was some confusion regarding the Porches patio and the sale of alcohol so I’m going to take this opportunity to update everybody. The patio may be reserved for a private function and if you are interested in doing so there is a reservation form on the portal site. If you reserve the patio for a private function you are permitted to bring beer or wine to the function, but in no case are you permitted to bring liquor (this is a State law). If you or your guests of the function would like to come into the restaurant and purchase a liquor drink to take outside to the function, you may do so. In situations where Porches has hired a band to play on the patio, no alcohol of any kind may be brought onto the patio but rather must be purchased from Porches. This seems reasonable given that we are paying for the entertainment.
Tara has been in discussions with Nature’s Way dry cleaners and they have indicated that they will initiate pick-up and drop-off of your dry cleaning if ten homeowners agree to utilize the service. Several of you have expressed interest in this. Please e-mail Tara at tara@riverbluffsliving.com if you are interested and she will get the proper paperwork to you.
Neighborhood Safety

Things have been blissfully quiet here lately! You may have notice on your way in today that our Neighborhood Watch sign has been installed on Chair Road before you cross the bridge, just beside the Boat/RV center. Lack of action breeds complancency so always be sure to keep your vehicles locked and if you see something out of the ordinary, call 911. Once you’ve called 911, and if you’re in a safe position to do so, be sure to let the Greeters know as well as they may be able to assist and can coordinate getting the responders to you more quickly.
Please keep in mind that this time of year animals are on the move as they look for places to hang out for the winter. The rapid changes in temperatures can really confuse some of them so please be alert when your out walking.
Community Activity

Farmer’s Market- Be sure to stop by and see Farmer Steve tomorrow from 10:00-3:00. If you haven’t been by the farm lately I would encourage you to stop by and check out his progress. The barn is looking much better with a new concrete pad under the shed and there are multiple rows of vegetables growing now.
Live Music at Porches- This SATURDAY ( I did that on purpose as we changed the day) Overtyme will be playing at Porches from 5-8 pm and we encourage all of you to come check them out. On Sunday, November 12th the band Striking Copper will be playing and at the request of many of you, we have changed the time to 4pm-7pm with the restaurant staying open until 8:00. We are happy to make this change as several of you suggested it and if it is well received we will continue with it.
Thanks again for your support of River Bluffs and if you every have any questions or need additional information, don’t hesitate to reach out to me. Have a great weekend and enjoy the beautiful weather.
