River Bluffs Neighbors,

Toni Tucker and Elsie Freund are fellow neighbors, as most of you know. This week, with the support of the Management Team and the HOA we are coordinating a “Little Red Wagon” Food Drive to support NourishNC and their efforts to feed hungry children in Wilmington.  Every weekend, holiday and summer break, NCC provides a “backpack” or full box of HEALTHY food to 1000+ elementary, middle and high school children. These children live in our community, go to school with our children and suffer in silence. Childhood hunger effects 1 in 4 children in Wilmington! NourishNC is an AMAZING nonprofit organization that solely functions on donations to meet their mission. It is our hope that we will help them with their mission this week!

How: Donate one (or MANY) of the following items:

Canned Ravioli or meat pasta, canned tuna or chicken, canned chili or beans
Boxes of Mac and Cheese
Oatmeal packets, healthy cereal or granola
Granola bars/Cliff Bars
Canned vegetables or veggie cups
Fruit Cups
Peanut butter or jelly (no glass)
Juice boxes

** Please note that we cannot accept expired food, junk food or items not listed above**

NourishNC strives to provide the healthiest, balanced meals possible.

When/Where: Leave items on your porch in a bag or box on Sunday, March 11th by 3:00 pm. You will also receive a flier on your door as a reminder this week. There will be extra fliers in the Post Office in the event we miss someone. Future collection dates will also be on the bulletin board in the postal center.

If you have any questions or are interested in distributing fliers or collecting donations on your street, please let us know.

Please join us and help River Bluffs become Hunger Heroes this week!

Thank you!
