Club Updates
Just a heads up to everyone that a number of clubs are planning new activities. This would be a good opportunity to log onto the Resident’s Portal and confirm that you are signed up for the clubs you want.
After logging into the Resident’s Portal, just click on “View All Clubs†on the left-hand side of the page.
A list of all the community clubs will show up with a box on the righthand side of the page.
• A green box “√ Member†confirms that you are a current member.
• Clicking on the club name will take you to the club page that contains more information about the club.
• A gold box “Join Club†indicates that you can join the club by clicking on the box.
• Clicking on the green box will remove your name from the club membership list if you no longer want to participate in that club.
Here are a few examples of new club information. Details will be sent out later in the week to subscribed club members.
Gamers Club – This club will soon kick off activities for the year. There will be two types of club activities/meetings:
• Indoor games (various card games, dominoes, board games, etc.) in the CAR (Community Activity Room) above the Fitness Center.
• Outdoor games (corn hole, horseshoes, bocce, etc.) It looks like this club will meet one day per week, or per month, during late afternoon/evening.
An initial play date will likely be set for one day during the next two weekends. Future dates, times and locations will be determined by club members.
Ping Pong –  We now have three new ping pong tables located in the CAR and are ready to start playing! All skill levels of players or those who want to start playing are welcome. We will start each meeting with one table set up each for (1) Beginner/Novice, (2) Intermediate and (3) More-advanced.  Meetings will start this week and a kick-off party for one day during the next two weekends is being considered.
Water Volleyball –  5:30 PM Wednesday, 8/15 – Ritt Schiano will hold a pool class on basic water volleyball, covering such topics as…forming the diamond for better ball control, setting up and serving, scorekeeping, and more!
The HomeMade Cooking Club had been re-named to the Supper Club. Subscribe to this club in the portal for more info and upcoming updates!
Neighborhood Updates
Mosquito Spraying
New Hanover County plans to spray for mosquitoes in our area this evening between 6:00pm and midnight.
Some helpful information from their team: Mosquito spraying is approved for public health use, but as a precaution, you can go inside for 30 minutes when you see the truck. Spray schedules are based on mosquito trap counts, weather, and other data, and may be canceled or changed. Spraying takes place in the evening and is weather permitting. Visit Health.NHCgov.com for a spraying schedule and mosquito control information. If you have questions, please call the county’s Public Health Department at 910-798-6667 during business hours (7:30 a.m.-5 p.m.). Please remember to dump all standing water in your yard, because mosquitoes only need one tablespoon of water to breed.
