Good evening,
Hard to believe its November already. With the exception of the rain last night and today, this fantastic weather is one of the many reasons we all chose to live here. The end of daylight savings time this weekend is reminder of two things: 1) the holidays are literally just around the corner and 2) change the batteries in your smoke detectors.
Crews continue to work every day on the extension of water and sewer service to the marina and the expansion of Rosewood Landing. They have already made the turn going down to the marina and should be getting to the marina by January. In Rosewood Landing, the new Lots there will be coming on line about the same time. Duke Energy has installed one side of the new poles in the power line easement area and has switched their focus to repairing the poles that came down on the other side of the river. If you haven’t seen it yet, its worth going down to the bluff with some binoculars and watching them work over there. They had to build a two mile long road out of wooden mats in order to be able to get equipment into the marsh. Home construction continues to be brisk with new starts planned for six additional Lots in the next month or so.
We have been trying for several weeks to get a tree company back on-site to remove limbs and damaged trees from the common areas and vacant Lots. The challenge has been finding one that can schedule us, has a good reputation and can provide the proper insurances etc. We hope to have them out here very soon and we have a list of those areas needing attention, many of which you all have made us aware of. The same challenge has confronted us with the removal of the debris from the power line easement area and we hope that the debris trucks will be returning soon to get the rest of the material. Trying to get vendors engaged for some of the smaller jobs that need to be done has been difficult but please know that we are continuing to work on it.
Thanks to all of you who took the time to attend the information meeting last week about the proposed sand mine to the north of us. Regardless of the issue, it is a positive thing to see a neighborhood mobilize and get involved in issues not only within it, but around it as well.
Amenities
The swimming pool officially closed yesterday, November 1 but we will be leaving the furniture in place through the end of this month as we likely still have warm days between now and then. We will be switching out the soap dispensers in the restrooms and we are also having the management company look at options for treating the floors in the restrooms to improve their appearance. We have reached out to the fencing company several times about repairs to the tennis and pickle ball area and once they are able to get us scheduled we will clean out the dog park and finish the improvements there. We are also moving ahead with adding a rowing machine and exercise bike to the fitness center. In regards to HOA matters, we have a new property manager with Premier Management. Rob Dunham will be the representative from Premier Management and Burrows and I have met with him and you can expect to see him around the neighborhood regularly.

They have reinstalled the cover over the smaller high tunnel and the larger one will be going up soon as well so they will have product well into the winter.
