Good afternoon,

We just received the following from New Hanover County:

New Hanover County plans to spray for mosquitoes in your area this evening between 6 p.m. and midnight. Mosquito spray is approved for public health use, but as a precaution you can go inside for 30 minutes when you see the truck. Spray schedules are based on mosquito trap counts, weather, and other data, and may be cancelled or changed. Spraying takes place in the evening and is weather permitting.

Visit Health.NHCgov.com for a spraying schedule and mosquito control information. If you have questions, please call the county’s Public Health Department at 910-798-6667 during business hours (7:30 a.m.-5 p.m.).

Please remember to dump all standing water in your yard, because mosquitoes only need one tablespoon of water to breed.
