Good afternoon,

Can you believe it is already February tomorrow? The great thing about the first of February is that it typically means we only have a few more weeks of colder temperatures. You’d never know it with the blooming daffodils everywhere (more on the daffodils below). There has been a lot of work going on around the community and the most notable projects have to do with the river. The shoreline stabilization project is continuing as we were granted an extension until the latter part of February. You will continue to see work on the top of the bluff and from the waterside as well. This coming week the huge barge with the crane on it will make a reappearance to speed up the process of placing the rip rap along the river bank. Please remember that this work is dangerous just to be around and you should not be using the riverwalk until we give the all clear. The electricians are working on installing power to the boat slips and the plumber will be on site next week to begin water installation. We were just able to resubmit the building permit for the Pavillion this past week so we hope construction will be starting on that project very soon.

Community Activities

Joshua Ward, a contestant on American Idol, will be playing at Porches tonight from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Please come and enjoy the live music and great food tonight.

Our monthly brunch at Porches will be this Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and there will be live music as well. Look for the menu to be distributed tomorrow.

Save the date for February 14th, Valentine’s Day, at Porches. Michael and Chef Timeka will be preparing a fancy three course dinner that evening with a very special dinner menu.

Join your neighbors on Saturday February 8th at 9:00 am to transplant daffodils from undeveloped lots to common areas in our community. We’ve saved hundreds of these beautiful perennials over the past few years. The number of remaining lots where they are still available gets smaller as the lots are developed. Let’s get them transplanted into areas where they’ll be appreciated for many years to come while there are still some left. Meet at outside Porches Café with your golf cart or pickup and shovel. The rain date will be the 15th at 9:00 a.m.

Chloe has posted a very useful document on the portal under “Community Resources” that will help guide you through both the usage of the front gate and the portal itself. Please don’t hesitate to email her if you have any questions. Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the last NFL game of the year on Sunday. Thank you as always for your continued support of River Bluffs.
