Good morning,

As discussed during the Annual Meeting in January, the development company has made the old General Store space available for community use while continuing our search for another restaurant operator. I am happy to announce that the search is now complete and Riverside Kitchen & Bar will be opening in the next sixty to seventy-five days. Riverside Kitchen & Bar has signed a lease for two years (for $1/year) with River Bluffs Development Corporation (the owner of the old General Store/Porches space) and the restaurant’s owner, Steve West, has already begun  permitting and licensing paperwork. Steve currently owns Cut & Pour, located on Masonboro Loop Road in Wilmington, and previously owned Grand Cru in Lumina Station. He had done a tremendous amount of work over the last several months, including the survey that so many of you participated in a month or so ago. There is already a preliminary website for the restaurant and it may be found at RiversideKitchenandbar.com. The menu is still in the works and there will be more information forthcoming as they get closer to opening.

The development company’s only role in this new restaurant will be as its landlord but we obviously will be its biggest supporters and ultimately the restaurant’s success will depend on both its performance and the community’s patronage. As many of you who have been here for a while know, having a gathering place like a restaurant inside the gates is a great benefit and we’re excited that Steve and his team are willing to make the investment necessary to provide that benefit. There will be additional information forthcoming over the next couple of weeks regarding use of the community center and alternatives to that space that the Advisory Committee and the development company have been working on. Please feel free to reach out to me via email at john@riverbluffsliving.com if you have any questions.

Have a great week.
