Farmer Bill is up early most mornings, tending to the crops at The River Bluffs Organic Farm. Situated on 10 acres of land, The Farm utilizes sustainable growing methods so that all yielded produce can be tagged “certified organic.â€
The Farm, located just down the road from the entrance, is one of many unique and special amenities found at River Bluffs, Wilmington’s popular village community. In fact, The Farm helps to fill the amazing menu at the neighborhood restaurant – Porches Café.
While the summer harvest season is prime, River Bluffs is featuring a Saturday Farm Market for residents and the surrounding community. And, you’re invited!
From 10am – 3pm on most Saturdays, meet Farmer Bill on the steps at Porches Café for the best of the week’s featured produce. Everything is organic and each week will vary, depending on the harvest.
Here are a few delicious options you might find:
- Strawberries
- Watermelon radish and other assorted radishes
- Scallions, zucchini, patty pan squash and purple carrots
- Potatoes, red Russian and curly kale
- Pea shoots and sunflower shoots
Rain or shine, we invite YOU to visit our River Bluffs Farm Market each Saturday, 10:30am – 3:00pm (although we are usually set-up at 10am)! The event is open to the public – so help us spread the word to your friends and neighbors.
