The closest beach to River Bluffs, Wrightsville Beach is known for its clear blue waters and spacious, clean beach. It offers tons of water sports and outdoor activities and a vibrant social scene with plenty of great restaurants. This walkable, village-like town is known for its welcoming, social community. Summer is filled with concerts, surfing competitions, surf lessons, standup paddleboard excursions and fishing charters.

Carolina Beach

Kure Beach
Many love the small town atmosphere of Kure Beach. It’s home to the oldest fishing pier on the Atlantic coast, an oceanfront park, the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher and beautiful, uncrowded beaches. The Fort Fisher State Historic Site has a ton of summer activities for kids, too. And, the beaches are a great place to hunt for seashells!

Ten miles of beaches and family-oriented attractions make Oak Island one of Brunswick County’s most popular. It’s also minutes from historic Southport, a fishing village unlike any other! The beach has more than 60 public beach-access points (all free parking,) two fishing piers, two marinas and three public boat and canoe ramps. And, because Oak Island is a south-facing beach, you can see the sunrise and set from your favorite sandy perch.
