Summer is over, but that doesn’t mean your time in the sunshine has to end. With the change of seasons comes a change in the weather, which also means you can switch up your outdoor activities to make the most of the beautiful summer-to-autumn weather that’s on its way! River Bluffs is committed to keeping the community close to nature, so with over one-third of the land at River Bluffs kept free of buildings, there are plenty of ways to enjoy the great outdoors this time of year.
Marina
The Cape Fear River is one of the most beloved landmarks of the Wilmington area, and at River Bluffs, the Marina is a place we are so proud to have for you and your family to enjoy, right on the river. With the expansive main pier already waiting for you on the water’s edge, this is the perfect place to go and watch the birds preparing for the winter weather, or take the kids for a great day of whole-family coloring by the river. Take photos from the pier of the beautiful changing foliage, or just sit and let the calming sound of the river carry all your worries downstream.
Riverwalk
There’s no better place to walk off your stress or just enjoy the warmth of the sun than on our nature-friendly Riverwalk. This path follows the river on a 2,500 foot fixed pier, making sure your feet stay safe and that the natural habitat around the river is preserved. Surrounded by the changing leaves and the call of local birds, you can easily spend hours wandering the path and stopping to admire what our beautiful coastal region has to offer.
Parks and Trails
If you’re looking for more open spaces and room for outdoor activities, the community has plenty of parks and trails to satisfy your inner explorer. Hike one of our nature trails and get some fresh air in your lungs after a day of working in the office. Or bring a picnic to the park to watch the wildlife play just out of reach. Even if you don’t go far from home, a little time outdoors in our pristine parks will have you feeling rejuvenated and ready for whatever life brings your way this winter.
With cool weather and sweaters in your future, why not take this time to make the most of the great outdoors? Our parks and riverside trails are wonderful places for you and the family to get a little more Vitamin D before the cold weather sets in. Come on out and play!
