Good afternoon,

I hope everyone has had a great week and perhaps we will finally get some much needed rain. As you have likely seen so many trees, shrubs and grasses have been stressed by the excessive heat and lack of water. Hopefully the next several days will will provide some relief. For July, activity in sales has been brisk. We closed on several properties, including another river front homesite, and we have pre-sold several of the new Cottage Park homes. July and August are typically slow in terms of sales activity but we have been pleased with both the amount and quality of traffic.

Mastec, the world’s slowest utility installation company, has finally gotten power down to the parking lot of the marina and should be finishing up in the next few weeks. Piedmont Natural Gas will begin installation on Monday and we expect to begin paving the roadway within the next two weeks. Power and water to the docks at the marina will take a little longer but we are working on it. While we got pretty far behind with mowing the large common areas and vacant homesites, most of that work has now been completed and the rest should be done by the end of next week.

You may have notice a new lap-lane rope at the pool. We purposely got the rope variety one so that it will be easier to remove for volleyball or other such events. In addition, there are two new tables with chairs and umbrellas to help provide some additional shade. Benches for the dog park and sport courts were ordered about three weeks ago and should be here any day. We also have signed a contract with Court One for the striping of tennis court “A” so that it may be used as either one tennis court or two pickle ball courts. Once the company lets us know when the work is scheduled we will get the portable nets and a box to keep them in when not in use. Lewis Construction is almost done with their estimate for the Pavillion going down at the marina and we expect construction to begin on that this fall.

Starting tomorrow night, Porches will now be open on Saturday evenings until 9:00, as well as Friday nights. Food will be available and Tameka is planning on having things like pizza, tacos etc. on Saturdays. Unfortunately we had already committed to have a private event at Porches next Saturday evening so we will be open this Saturday, closed next Saturday and then open every Saturday after that. We look forward to expanding our evening hours even more in the future.

Thanks again for your support of River Bluffs and have a great weekend. I will be out of the office next week but Chloe and the Sales Staff will be here.
