Good afternoon,

I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful day. Please see some important updates below.

Oyster Roast-We have right at 100 people signed up for the Oyster Roast this Friday evening at 6:00p.m. In order to accommodate both those who plan to eat oysters, and the other great menu items, and those who would like to just socialize with the community; we will be serving food from 6:00-7:30. Oysters, Brunswick Stew, Vegetarian Chili, Meatballs, Cornbread and lots of other good eats will be served beginning at 6:00. The restaurant will be open to everyone after 7:30. Hope to see everyone there.

Christmas Tree Lighting-The residents are organizing the second annual Christmas Tree Lighting this coming Sunday, December 8th from 5:00-7:00 in front of the post office. The bar at Porches will be open and River Bluff’s own John Distler will be performing live! Residents are encouraged to bring an ornament for the tree.

Toys For Tots-The amount of toys donated thus far is really impressive. If you haven’t seen the “tree” of donated toys, bring a new, unwrapped toy by the Sales Center during normal business hours. We will be able to accept your donations up until the end of the day Monday, December 9th. Ritt Schiano will be coordinating delivery of the toys to a location where the Marine Corps will collect them and ultimately distribute them to those in need this holiday season.

Golf Cart Parade-Don’t forget to sign up for your entry in the golf cart parade which will be held Friday December 20th at 6:00. This is a really great event and if you’re interested in entering, please contact Chloe for more information.

Greeter Gifts-Here is a note from Lori Nichols who graciously agreed to spearhead this effort again this year.

Thank you all for your generous contributions thus far! We have a total of $2,365 so far. For those who haven’t had the opportunity to donate yet, you can still drop off contributions into the red mailbox hanging on the wall to the right of my front door (216 Camber Drive).  Also, I will be accepting donations at Porches on Friday night (Dec 6) at the Oyster Roast. Please try to bring your cash donations in an envelope with your name on it.  If you forget to bring an envelope, I will have a few with me.  If you prefer to give a check, please make it out to myself, Lori Nicholls. Please note that I will be cashing all of the checks on or about December 16th (the final day to make contributions).  At that point, I will split the contributions 40/40/20 for each of the three Greeters and sign your names to each of three cards.  I will let you know what each of the Greeters receive and when they receive it.  Also, I want you to know that I am tracking the dollar amount of each contribution on an excel spreadsheet in case anyone wants to confirm that their donations have been counted. Thanks again for your generous donations!  Lori Nicholls

There are a number of other update items that will go out on Friday. Enjoy the rest of your week and see you all on Friday.
