Recently all of us have received our “2021 Notice of Assessed Value” from the New Hanover County Tax Department. Our office has received multiple calls inquiring about values and how the county may have determined them. Please understand that we have nothing to do with these determinations of value and the Tax Department has its own appraisers that conduct their own research. One of those appraisers met with me last week with a number of questions but it appears they had already completed their work as the Notices came out two days later. On your Notice you will find instructions on how to go about appealing the Tax Department’s decision if you choose to do so. Anecdotally, the majority of the calls we have received have been from Rosewood Landing so included here is the current price list for the various floor plans in that neighborhood which may be useful in your appeal process.
