Good afternoon,

By now you have likely heard that we are likely to get winter weather Thursday night and particularly Friday morning through mid-day. This region is not “built” for this type of weather and its easy to forget that some times. As such, what may appear to be a mild covering of ice or frozen precipitation can create huge (and dangerous problems). It is very probable that Friday morning will be icy, slippery and down-right dangerous outside and we strongly recommend that you do not leave your home until temperatures have warmed enough to melt the ice. We are not set up to provide salting and plowing services, which means that every surface in the community is likely to be slippery. This will be especially true on the elevated porches around the mail center and fitness center and on the river walk.   You may see some tree damage as well if the ice gets thick enough.  Given that this will be the first ice event we have had in five years, it’s easy to understand why we do not have snow and ice removal in the HOA’s budget. Please prepare accordingly and be safe.
