Good Morning,
I hope everyone has been able to enjoy the beautiful weather this past week. If you’ve been watching the news or the weather, you no doubt know that a hurricane is active in the Atlantic and although it was originally forecasted to hit the east coast of Florida, it now seems we may feel effects from the storm by Wednesday evening. We will continue to monitor the forecasts regularly and will email everyone when we have more information and to schedule a neighborhood preparation meeting. Management is already making initial preparations. From past experience, I will say that if you think you’re flying somewhere in the next week, start checking on your flight now. We will certainly contact everyone over the weekend if the forecast changes dramatically.
The paving has been completed down to the marina parking lot, and if you haven’t been down, you really should check it out. Burrows and I met with the contractor, Frank Lewis, about the Pavilion project at the marina and we believe that work will begin in the next month. The tree service that we utilize will be back on the property starting next Tuesday, and if you have a tree or limbs on your property that you would like to have removed, please email me with your address and a phone number that the company can use contact you on some time next week. We will likely have them out again in the fall as well.
Please help us with two recurring problems. The first is vehicles blocking the boat ramp for extended periods of time. If you plan to spend some time down at the gazebo or on the riverwalk, please leave your vehicle (car or golf car) in the parking area and not in front of the ramp. Thanks very much for your help with this. The second recurring problem has to do with cleaning up after your pets. Please think about what it would be like to have a surprise left in your yard or landscaping bed and be sure to clean up after your furry friends. Thanks again for your assistance on these two items.
Community Events
September 14th – Come to Porches for the return of karaoke! Let everyone hear your best voice and enjoy time with your neighbors
September 17th – This is a Tuesday evening event at Porches from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., GE will be hosting an event to let the neighborhood know what they do at the facility to our north, and the event will be a combination of networking, a brief presentation and then Q & A. There will be appetizers available at no charge and a cash bar. This is a great opportunity to interact with our “neighbor” to the north, and we hope everyone can attend. IMPORTANT! READ THIS – Because this will be a well-attended event, there will be little to no seating. We plan on removing the tables from the main room, and food will be located in the dining room to the side. There will be some seating outside, but it will be limited. Removing the furniture is the best way to ensure we get everyone in that wants to attend. Please plan accordingly, and if you have a special request, please contact Chloe or me.
September 21 – Trivia Night returns to Porches and will continue every third Saturday of the month for the rest of this year.
Thanks for your continued support of River Bluffs and as a reminder, the Sales Office, Porches Cafe, and the front gate will be closed on Monday in observance of Labor Day. Have a fantastic long weekend.
